Lazily c/p'd over from my Tumblr...
Dec. 17th, 2011 06:10 pmSo while at B&N today I got a cool little journal. Thought I’d carry it around for random thoughts, even though it’s a bit too big to be pocket-sized. I’d just find a way, y’now?
Had the idea to write down my Pokemon in it from my restarted-last-night file in White. Halfway through writing out my team I had the idea to do it in-character.
So now it’s a character journal, chronicling my trainer self’s (even though in the game he doesn’t have my name but whatever) journey from Nacrene City onwards. With little sketches and doodles here and there, because that’s how I roll. Don’t know what I’ll do with it when I’m done… Maybe turn it into a fanfic or something.
Also, judging by the doodles so far, Pignite is well suited to my art style. I feel like I shouldn’t be surprised by this…

I've successfully gotten my fifth badge, and am currently moving through Chargestone Cave. My team is as follows:
-Mouse, level 30 Drilbur (holding Amulet Coin)
-Charlotte, level 26 Tranquill (holding Quick Claw)
-Legato, level 30 Servine (holding Miracle Seed)
-Janken, level 27 Darumaka (holding Eviolite)
-Lan, level 26 Deerling (holding Lucky Egg)
-Metal, level 27 Trubbish (holding Rocky Helmet)
Okay yes, having both a Deerling and a Servine in my team is mild Grass overkill, but whatever >_> Mouse is a good enough Fire killer for me at this current point in the game, although... someone in the end is going to get switched out for a Water type. Don't know who, don't know when, but yeah XD I could use Water.
Anyway yeah, that's where I am right now. More in-depth information on my team will come... eventually. Possibly. I almost did it this entry, but I don't think anyone other than me cares XD

Aug. 21st, 2011 09:06 pmAlright, so I've always been all about using weird/non-conventional/little used/"ugly" Pokemon. This is nothing new.
What is new is that I did not expect to love Trubbish this much. I'd say my Trubbish specifically, but when I first saw it, during a Team Plasma battle, my honest-to-god reaction was "Aw, that's kinda cute~". And then it kicked my mon's butt until I switched out to something more appropriate (DAMN YOU ACID SPRAY).
Also, Garbodor is ugly as sin but I can't wait until mine evolves.
This whole "I USE WEIRD/UNPOPULAR POKEMON" is completely ignoring the fact there's a Minccino in my team right now, who also kicks all kinds of butt. Sshhh.

Mar. 26th, 2011 04:39 pmWhile I've (almost) always played the X to... well, anybody's Zero (but particularly Pup's, we've been doing X and Zero for years) I've often felt I'm more like Zero personality-wise, not quite the badass quotient though, and the ratio of X to Zero in my icons ought to show I like Z just a biiiit more. Since I usually play characters that are closer to me in personality or my favorites from Whatever Canon, I just find it funny this is one of those times it turned out different.
I want Pokemon White. And on the subject of video games, the New Game+ of TWEWY needs to give you Scarletite after cutscenes like it did the first time around. Just sayin'. >\
I also want the EXE Complete Works. Man. ;~;

On a completely unrelated note, I restarted SoulSilver today, in part for the Spirit Pokemon Challenge. Admittedly I only rolled one number, mostly because I didn't see the "roll 5 or so" note at the bottom |D But I've still got the Pokemon in my team! Or at least, will once the egg hatches XD After that I may take on some Nuzlocke qualities, just to give it an extra challenge.
Anyway, for those interested, my current team is: Deiji the Totodile♂, Legato the Bellsprout♂, Jingles the Cleffa♂ (bred from a Clefairy on prior file), and Leo the HootHoot♂. As mentioned I have a Growlithe egg (also bred from previous file) which I'll name Giro/Girouette if it hatches male. The last member of my team will be a Mareep, once I get the effin' badge from Falkner. >\

Won the Earth Badge in SoulSilver today! First time I've done that, despite my myriad files XD Have I ever mentioned I love Perish Song? *snickers* Made that last Gyarados so much easier to fight. Now the only question is, what now? I'm not sure I want to train for Red. I'm not one of those people that easily maxes out their clocks, amassing countless hours on a single file. So knowing me, I'm going to follow through on my idea of breeding for my next team and going from there.
Slotted to go to the library later on today. I'm tired and know I'll need sleep, but I don't wanna go to sleeeeep. Not yet XD Maybe I'll grab a quick catnap before going, though.

Oct. 26th, 2010 05:51 amMaking a quick entry before I go to bed to preserve a plot bunny. Remember that Pokemon movie marathon I said I was doing the other day? Well my brain decided to mash up the first and second movies, and now I have an idea to bridge Mewtwo Strikes Back and Mewtwo Returns by way of P2K, with my Mewtwo and Mew's Mew. I think we can do it too, talked a little tonight and got the major points of the plot hammered out. Finer details can come when it's being RPed.
But honestly, I'm excited about it. I rarely get the chance to develop my Mewtwo, especially like this. So hooray /o/

And continuing the Pokemon kick, today while laying around and continuing to recover I'm going to marathon all the movies and specials I have. Which is kind of funny in that it begins with Mew (the First Movie, obviously) and ends with Mew (the latest one I have is the Lucario movie). I just think it's kinda funny how that worked out.

I could always do with honing my sewing skills more, plus it'd give me something to wear to cons not that I go to many to fill in on no-cosplay days XD The thing is, I'm not sure what Pokemon. I was first thinking of Mewtwo but at the risk of being accused of copying this (because you'd better BELIEVE I'll be posting the hoodie online XD ), I've decided against it. Besides, while I may joke that I'm the Mewtwo to my friend Mew's... er, Mew, there's so many other Pokemon I'd rather hoodie-ize XD
So that leaves me looking at other options. After nixing Mewtwo the ones that come to mind are my top three favorites: Raichu, Suicune, and Articuno. The fact that two of three of them have LONG AS HELL TAILS isn't really worrying to me, nor are the presence of Suicune's... ribbons? Whatever those are. For ease of washing I was thinking of either making shortened tails (like, a foot or less long) that're detachable from the back bottom of the hoodie, or longer ones that can be curled up and attached to the back. Raichu's would be easiest to do in the latter, and Articuno's would be difficult but doable, better if it was the former. Suicune's ribbons would either be the same way except coming off the shoulder blades (yes yes I know they go from the OTHER direction in the actual Pokemon, but sewing these would be hard enough, I'm not sure I'm up to defying gravity XD ) and also be detachable. Their markings (a department in which Articuno would clearly be easiest) would be patches of like-colored fabric, and the actual hoods would not have eyes on them, like you might see with some others (like that Mewtwo one up there). In case you were curious, Suicune's mane would be represented as the back half of the hood being purple, because I'm lame like that >.>
After that, the next one that comes to mind is Nidoking actually, despite my female gender and the fact that all those spikes would be hell. But come ON, Nidokiiiinnnng. XDXD
Beyond those ideas, my mind starts to wander on the subject. Obviously starters and lower-level evolutions would be easiest, because they have less "accoutrements" than, say, a Blastoise hoodie might. Some of the Legendaries fall in that same category. All in all I want to make a hoodie but I'm not sure which one. I've got 500-some options now, after all XD

Apr. 29th, 2010 07:58 pmThe drabble and question memes in my last entry are still up, but after today's trip to the library I just had to update with this, after a post about Pokemon cards on my f-list made me think of it.
I was walking down one of the aisles in the History section, looking for some books on the Civil War but also browsing to see what I could see. The medieval/Middle Ages books caught my eye, one about knights in particular. I pulled it down, paged through it, and was taken surprise by something that stuck out.
It was a Milotic card. To be specific, it was a Cynthia's Milotic card, stuck between pages.
I was surprised to say the least, and continued paging from the beginning. I then ran across a Skarmory card and, beyond where the Milotic was, a Gabite card. I did take them but I mean, how weird is that? o_O Finding THREE Pokemon cards, in a book that I happened to pass by, that was in a section of the History aisle I hadn't even originally planned to go down.
Considering I had my Pokewalker with me for the first time in FOREVER, the Pokemon that was inside (Kat the Mew) is officially my lucky 'mon. XDXD

SoulSilver update! I have ah... restarted, for one thing. I'm considering this my "real" playthrough, with the first one around having been getting used to the game. This time around I plan on transferring in the Pikachu-colored Pichu, the Jirachi, and so on. Currently I'm going through Sprout Tower, and my team is as follows:
Lan the Cyndaquil, lv. 8
Giro the HootHoot (temporary), lv. 5
Savannah the Skarmory, lv. 5
Forte the Nidoran♂, lv. 5
Marino the Scyther, lv. 6
Kat the Mew, lv. 5
...What. Okay, so half my team was bred from 'mons on my previous SoulSilver file (thank you Echo the Nidoking for making the most epic Nido baby in the history of ever* XD ) and the Mew was Action Replayed on Diamond and sent over. I don't plan on doing any competitive battling, so there you go. XDXD And as much as I'd like to keep Giro, I've got a GAPING HOLE OF WEAKNESS to Electric types because I didn't think when I was breeding Pokemon, so he'll likely be replaced and Savannah will be my Fly-er. ...Actually, can Skarmory learn Fly? Hm. Well at least I have Kat otherwise. Come to think of it, Marino might be exchanged out later and just used for False Swipe purposes, because I'm going to need a Water type too. Well, we'll see how the team changes as I move through the game.
Check it out! Eggs again. Hopefully I can keep posting these suckers like I used to.

Well, we'll see how the team changes as I move through the game.

* Forte the Nidoran♂ hatched with Strength, Iron Tail, Poison Jab and due to level right now, Peck. Not to mention that 2 out of his 3 characteristics actually fits his nickname source and, me being the "Amateur in IVs/How to perfect stats" trainer that I am, I think they actually boost him pretty well. Tell me that's not an epic little Nidoran. XD

(I actually did this image a month or so ago XDXD I guess it paid off. Apologies if it broke any layouts but at least LJ has a block image function?)
I'm way too amused that Zero the Skarmory and Axl the Ditto made an egg before I barely got out of Goldenrod. Yes, only other Megaman fans will get that, oh well.
