I will never, ever stop loving the sound of Giro's "theme" Awake, especially the way it begins. When it starts playing in the ending of ZX, and you see just what's going on... Oh god, it's one of the few times I've ever cried for a video game. I've come close countless times. But I bawl without fail at the ending of Megaman ZX.
"Tonight, in order to refresh my mind on a character's personality, I replayed the beginning of Megaman ZX, for the benefit of RP. And I don't know whether it's just the night I had (utterly infusing myself with this guy, I mean) or my personality, but when it got to... what happens to him, I found myself deeply affected. I've played ZX multiple times, have gone through this scenario many many times, but tonight... Tonight I wonder, "Is it okay to cry at a video game?"
But then, given how many people you hear about how they reacted to Aeris, or to countless other moments, I suppose the answer is "Yes"... And you know him for such a short time in the game, but his presence continues to permeate it, extending into the second one (or maybe that's just me). It may sound weird to mourn over someone you experience for such a short time.
And yet... Here I am, at 5-something in the morning, sap that I am, sitting here with my eyes wet and wishing I could materialize his inner voice for just a moment so I can give him a hug, and tell him "I'll remember"..."
I went to go find that one just for the ending, but I forgot it was also the one where I mentioned I'd cried at it. Heh. I was listening to Awake when I did that entry, too...
2,077 words. A small start, but a solid one.
Edit: I've started an RP guide to the universe I'm using for NaNoWriMo, for people to read so they can understand the novel if I ever post the WIP (because yes, the universe is THAT expansive; it has four years of play people). A few supplemental guides existed already for the purposes of the players' reference, but now I'm filling in the blanks for benefit of those not familiar with the world xD

Date: 2009-11-02 12:29 pm (UTC)I take it you've not played Mother 3, then? XD;
I haven't played ZX, though. I probably should, but I've been wary of any Rockman games with a Z or an X in the title for a while XD;;;

Date: 2009-11-02 10:52 pm (UTC)Ah, then you're missing out if you ask me ^^ The ZX games are awesome and definitely my second favorite, tied with Legends, right behind EXE. The gameplay isn't at all as punishing as Zero was (evident by the fact I can't even get beyond the intro stage in [insert MMZ game here] but I've completed both ZX games.
..On Easy mode.) and there's something about the characters... But yeah, I highly suggest them ^^no subject
